Hello fellow Democrats and free thinking folks!  We’re approaching the March 20th Primary, and your services are needed!  I’ve heard people say that they are just one vote—how would they be a difference in an election?  Well, let me tell you what you can do!  Vote.  It’s very important to vote this year.  Democrats lost ground in 2010 because turnout was low.  The primary ballot contains qualified county board candidates, as well as great candidates for State Representative, State Senate, and U.S. Congress.  Show neighbors that you’re active.  Put some candidates’ signs in your yard, and write a Letter to the Editor urging people to get out and vote/support your candidate.  Contribute.  The Kendall County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC) and local candidates operate on shoestring budgets, so even $10 will help us/them move toward our goals.  Volunteer.  Walk your neighborhood.  Contact the Kendall County Democratic Party (or the candidates of your choice) for literature, and drop it at your neighbors’ doors.  Isn’t more exercise on your list of resolutions for 2012?  Get active.  Attend township/school board/city council meetings, Democratic Party meetings, go to meet-and-greets, check out county board meetings—observe what is happening, and speak out for yourself, your family, your neighbors.  Most of the folks running these meetings want input.  They also want volunteers to help plan and operate the various functions they are obligated to do.  This is the essence of the democratic process.  I tell people that they can’t complain about politics unless they’re willing to do something about its problems.  Run for office.  All you need to be is motivated, informed and willing to put in the effort.  The KCDCC is chock full of folks who have run for office, hold office, and/or have been part of political campaigns.  So, while this is a good list of how you can be active, it’s not all you can do.  Do something.  Vote and get active!

            Get Out the Vote!

It’s election time, and we are looking for all eligible Kendall Democrats to practice their American right to vote.  The Primary election is fast approaching.  For the March 20, 2012 Primary Election, Early Voting will take place from February 27 to March 15.  When Democrats vote early, we win.  Primary elections are a great way to build Party support and momentum.

The Kendall County Clerk's office has all of the necessary information about voting eligibility, key dates, and voting locations.  Visit http://www.co.kendall.il.us/county_clerk/election_pdf/Voting_Kendall_County.pdf or call 630-553-4104.

In order for the Kendall County Democratic Central Committee to show support for candidates, we need your voice, your vote, and your participation.  After the Primary, we will be looking to get supporters to help our candidates with their campaigns.  A campaign with a strong volunteer base will have the stronger candidate, and a stronger impact in November.   Please volunteer, if you are able.  Bring a friend to the polls.  We need you to be the difference in this General Election.  We need you, so that we all can win.
