Laesch asks for vote recount....why??

I can not believe he is keeping it up.

Party unity?

Why don't Laesch just give the 14th District to the Milk Dude and the Republicans. Why have an election, much less a special election?

What about the middle class that the Milk Dude and his millionaire cronies completely despise?

I guess Sen. Durbin, Nobel Prize winners, Sen. Obama endorsements mean nothing...???

How about the workers who are currently calling voters throughout the 14th District?

I question whether John Laesch, and I mean no disrespect, is a true Democrat...money and pride aside, the party is bigger than the man.

I wish John Laesch well, and look at it this way...he can try in two years.

But coming out and asking for a recount.... hours before a special election is just plain bad politics.

Give it up John and just place your mark next to Bill Foster's name or are you voting for the Milk Dude?

On last thing...all you who think I am out of line may email me at plfd3@plainfielddemocrats.org  by the way: my name is Mike Keniley and I approve of this note!

Hi Mike - welcome to the site.  By law Laesch is entitled to a recount if the results are within 5%.  I think there is only about a 0.5% difference between Laesch and Foster for the general.  I hope that Laesch supporters get out and vote for Foster today - none of us wants the "Milk Dude"!

Mike, welcome.

I suspect that John is going to get a lot of pressure to step aside.  Whether he listens or not is unknown.  But Foster's unexpected victory changes the dynamic and now John must decide what his legacy will look like.   It's his right to ask for a re-count, but academic studies have shown he has little chance.  In the canvass, he actually lost votes which also doesn't bode well.  Let's just say I'm glad I'm not in his shoes right now.

Hope to continue to see you around these parts...
