The Dems are widely expected to take control of the House tomorrow...thus, starting in January, Hastert won't be Speaker any more.

But for those under any illusion he will retain any sort of leadership position within the Republican Party, please thing again and read this...

Seriously, if you think Hastert is going to bring home the bacon, it simply won't happen.  No one should believe he is going to provide any sort of leadership when the opposite will certainly be true.  Hastert will take the fall for the Republican failure as he rightly should, it's his Party.  The Mark Foley mess (which we don't know the full extent of yet) was the nail in the coffin.  Voting for Hastert is simply voting in a lame duck for the next two years.

Voting for John Laesch is a better alternative, and that's what I'm going to do.

A suspect poll from a suspect pollster, but still one of the few insights into our district, for what it's worth.

We see so few polling numbers in this district that I'm going to be really interested in those final election results.

I wonder what happens to this guy's theory if Craig defeats Lauzen?

It seemed obvious to me...but now it's official, Hastert is a Lame Duck!

LINK

Why one earth everyone else couldn't see it is beyond me, but now that he won't be a leader...and plans to retire in 2008, what was the point of sending him back?

And frankly, I think we still have much to learn regarding Foley.

What a sad commentary and legacy...It's really a shame.
