This Newsweek article provides a good timeline of the scandal, and does note that Foley Chief of Staff "Fordham tried to win Foley some cover by offering ABC's Ross an exclusive on Foley's resignation if Ross agreed not to print the seamier messages. But Ross wasn't buying.", that "Hastert originally said he first heard about Foley's page problem from staff as the news broke. I've been watching FOX "News" "coverage" of the scandal - What at mess! FOX has largely stopped focusing on the details of the investigation, and is now focusing on getting Republicans out to vote by reporting on how this will result in the Democrats and Liberals taking over.
