I know that most Democrats disslike the current Speaker of the House, but is providing a forum that has his name on it such a good idea?
Every mention of his name is free advertising.
In all my years in politics this has always been a taboo.
Perhaps a name change?

Welcome the site Oswegoan...
I happen to disagree with your conclusion, but I appreciate the input. The more advice the better I say.
A quick hop around most candiate sites will showcase the regular use of opponents names. I don't think there will be any confusion about why we talk about Hastert.
I'll grant you that on his own site, Hastert's blog team never mentions John Laesch by name. And frankly, their blog stinks so who cares anyhow.
Have a great day and keep the posts coming. |

| Have to agree w/Rob on this. Denny provides so much material & voters need to be informed. So long as we don't make stuff up (and there's certainly no need in Denny's case!), I say inform the people of the facts! |

| Through a bit of off-page discussion, It was decided that maybe a name change would be in order. (This topic used to be called "Hastert") We felt that it was a bit like painting a target on the opponents back and would only encourage people to point out our opponents weaknesses without pointing out our own strengths. With the new heading, we can encourage discussion about both candidates. Thanks to the webmaster for agreeing to the change. |

| I agree - This name change turned out to be a good idea. I don't object to the mention of Hastert's name, but the suggested title change does encourage a wider range of discussion, including both discussion of Hastert and our candidate, John Laesch. |
