The Kendall County Democratic Central Committee (KCDCC) had a booth at Oswego’s Prairie Fest Expo Village last Friday night and Saturday, and marched in the parade on Sunday. Many Democratic candidates were on hand at the booth to meet voters, including Congressman Bill Foster, State Representative candidates Mary Schneider (50th District) and Dennis Grosskopf (84th District), County Clerk/Recorder candidate Patricia Dziewoir Feeley, and County Board Candidates Jim Feeley and Jim Birch. The booth featured candidate literature, “The Bell” (compliments of Ren and Kathy Bahr), Democratic donkey temporary tattoos, and life size cut-outs of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that visitors had their pictures taken with. While Clinton had a good deal of supporters, Obama was the favorite for pictures. The pictures are now available to visitors via the KCDCC website, www.kendall-democrats.org (see Events/Photo Albums).
In Sunday’s parade the KCDCC vintage convertible and marchers joined Senator Linda Holmes (42nd District), State Representative candidate Dennis Grosskopf (84th District), County Clerk/Recorder candidate Patricia Dziewoir Feeley, and County Board Candidates Jim Birch, Jim Feeley, and Elizabeth Flowers, and representatives from the Bill Foster for Congress and Mary Schneider for State Rep. (50th District) campaign. Enthusiastic marchers enjoyed good weather and handed out kazoos.
The KCDCC will also march in the upcoming July 4 parade in Yorkville. Anyone interested in marching should contact the KCDCC. |
