Hey Dan, welcome to our site and County.
This weeks' Oswego Ledger Sentinel newspaper lists all of those who filed to run for County Board. We have several Democrats running in both Kendall County Board Districts.
This is reddish purple County by most measures. But those are simply snapshots. It's more important to look where things are headed. The trends in surroundnig Counties like DuPage, Kane and Will showcase a rising Democratic Party. Kendall is following this same trendline as more and more people settle here. Demographic patterns will ensure that the Democratic Party becomes more and more a part of our local political landscape. People like you and me will become more involved and the status quo will change.
For example, a relative unknown (John Laesch) took almost 40% of the vote from Hastert last time around. I expect that number to much bigger this time given we have four candidates running in the Democratic primary...a strong candidate will emerge and we will have a competitive election unlike anything we have seen here in decades.
