Interviewed by the Beacon, our Democrats really didn't make a very good impression in my opinion. One wouldn't be interviewed. The other two came out against, what I beleive, is a very much overdue and very much need tax increase to improve our roads. Read it for yourself...and get the discussion going. Link

Hmmm ... you're right. Very brief answers without revealing actual plans. It's a shame about the tax increase to improve the roads, we're in a traffic gridlock around here and it's only getting worse. I can't imagine why a candidate would decline a newspaper interview right before an election. I hope these candidates get out the message regarding why we should vote for them. I invite them to post more information about their goals here and help get out the Dem vote!

Rob, your right the district 2 county board democratic candidates do not come off very well in the article. I also did a google search on each of the candidate names and they have absolutly no web presence. It's really too bad they were so resistant to our offer of assistance.

To be clear - I don't want to appear to be bashing our own candidates - I just think their interview responses could have better represented their goals. I hope they get the word out.

The district 2 candidates looked pretty good in this article http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/beaconnews/news/96956,2_1_AU15_KENBOARD1_S1.article Arden and John both came off as professional and informed.

Great article William, thanks. A little birdie told me that John Crawford is highly regarded (feared) candidate by the Republicans. This article reaffirms that for me. I'll look forward to meeting him. Arden is a good guy and I'm glad to see him getting some exposure. I've met Purcell a few times...being known as a skeptic is not a compliment so much in my opinion. Decent guy, but his arguing for a smaller tax increase, 1/4 cent versus 1/2 cent increase, is irresponsible and instead of a united Kendall County Board, we get a divided message and thus, a NO on the last referrendum. So we suffer with road problems becuase our ONE PARTY Board can't agree on a 1/4 cent tax increase. Time for a change!
