Maybe you saw the story about a Batavia family that was one of those behind President Bush when he vetoed the embryonic stem cell bill.
Interestingly, they do not agree with the President and instead, attended the ceremony to be able to spread the word about their situation regarding cord blood stem cells which is entirely different than embryonic stem cells.
I respect Schneider's and what they are doing. I can't blame them for trying to get the President to hear their story. I would likely do the same.
But in the end...they were props at a publicity event. Nothing that happened there will make a bit of difference in their fight.
In fact, most Americans don't agree with what happened this week according to polls...and even in Bush's personal tragedy (sister died of leukemia), he couldn't see past the politics of his Party.
My mother suffers from a regressive form of MS...and I hold Bush and his people responsible for extending her suffering.
