Dear Kendall County Democrats -
There was a story in the Beacon News, the day after filing closed, that stated no Democrat had filed for the 50th District State Rep. Seat. No one was more surprised than me to wake up the day after I had filed in Springfield to find out that I was listed as a Repub in the local paper. The horror of it all!!! Here is my letter to the editor, that appeared in the Beacon News on Nov. 16,2007, correcting that and setting the record straight!! My thanks to everyone for your wonderful support! - Mary Schneider
Letters to the Editor
November 16, 2007
I wish to correct an error that appeared in your paper. My name is Mary Schneider, and I am many things to many people in my community. I am the PTO President at Alice Gustafson School, member of the Batavia Inter-school Council and a stem-cell research advocate on state and federal levels. I would like to clarify that I am also the Democratic candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 50th District.
Your article "U.S., Illinois House races take shape as filing closes" (Nov. 6) erroneously stated that no Democrat had filed for this position.
I would like to thank and assure the people who signed my petitions and have given their support to my campaign that I am indeed the Democratic candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 50th District in the February 2008 primary and the November 2008 general election.
Mary Schneider
Democratic candidate
Illinois State Representative
50th District
