Shepro, an 18-year-old high school senior, won election to the seven-member regional board this week as a write-in candidate with only 57 votes. Kane County Clerk John Cunningham Thursday announced the write-in votes and added them to the final vote totals.
Shepro's election is even odder because with only 57 votes she will be sworn in instead of a candidate who received more than 27,000 votes.
